About KontactIntelligence

Brett Walker

Brett leads the Physician & AP Recruitment team for the entire IU Health system. Brett was hired in 2001 to create and develop the in-house Physician and Advanced Provider Recruitment Department program for the system. What started out as a one person department has grown to a team of 12. Under Brett's leadership, the team recruits over 100 physicians each year without the use of 3rd party search firms. He earned his B.A. at Tabor College, Kansas and his Masters at Indiana University.

Brett served a two-year term 2009-2010 as President of ASPR (Association of Staff Physician Recruiters), which consists of more than 1,200 physician recruiters across all 50 states and several provinces in Canada.

Brett also has served on the ASPR Board of Directors as President-elect 2007 and 2008; and Board Member at Large 2005 and 2006. Additionally, he served as Co-Chairman of the ASPR Benchmark Committee 2008; a committee devoted to helping develop national benchmarks for the physician recruitment industry.

Brett is a frequent and trusted resource to medical journals, the Advisory Board Company, the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE), the Forum of Healthcare Strategists and others on topics and trends related to physician recruitment and retention. In addition, he often presents at conferences and educational forums throughout the United States.
